Hello everyone...........
I have recently purchased a used Smart Fortwo (2018 model) and am loving the compact size for city driving. However, winter is just around the corner, and I live in an area that gets a decent amount of snow. I’m a bit concerned about how my Smart will handle in snowy and icy conditions, given its lightweight and rear-wheel drive.
I have read mixed reviews online — some say the Smart Fortwo does surprisingly well with proper winter tires, while others claim it can be tricky to manage in harsher winter conditions. I’m hoping to get advice from actual Smart drivers who’ve dealt with snowy weather firsthand.
- Do you recommend any specific winter tires or brands that have worked well for you?
- Is there any driving technique I should practice to ensure better control on icy roads?
- Should I consider carrying any additional equipment (like sandbags for extra weight) to help improve traction?
I also check this: https://www.smart-club.de/forum/forum/index.php?thread/44160-jetzt-kommt-es-doch-das-wechselkennzeichensnowflake But I have not found any solution. Could anyone guide me about this? Any tips, personal experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated! I really want to make sure I’m prepared for winter and that my Smart stays safe and stable on the road.
Thanks in advance!
